“For me, a handbag is a genderless container.
It’s something I dress up and which complements the silhouette.”

This wunderkind of accessories designed his first trainers at age 10.  Now in his thirties, Florian Denicourt creates accessories : starting out from hold-alls with leather straps, and moving on to small multi-pocketed and multi-zipped handbags, the creator has come a long way.

On graduating from the Duperré School, in 1999, Florian Denicourt focused on leather goods as designer of accessories for Vanessa Bruno from 2001 to 2003.

Florian Denicourt’s first collection launched in 2003. It comprised a few simple pieces – the leather hold-all, the multi-pocketed handbag, the soft leather half moon caught in straps, the multi-zipped  belt pack – combining  minimalism with a radical, rock’n’roll style, Quickly, these simpler models caught the eye of the male public. The first Men's collection was launched in 2004, with hold-alls designed specifically for men, oversized, and more masculine belt packs, and rectangular pieces in canvas or leather that made perfect traveling bags.

The collections have now expanded to new sizes such as the larger traveling bags, bowling bags, duffel bags or computer bags.

Florian Denicourt has added shoes to his collection, including derbies and boots, classical in their design and manufacture. Another key piece of his footwear line is the trainer with Velcro and perforated leather that seems like something straight out of Back to the Future and that have been a hit with both men and women. This could be because, with Florian Denicourt, everything is about androgyny.

After having met with the backing of the more demanding stores such as Le Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, Bergdorf Goodman and Liberty, Florian Denicourt continues his work at the cutting edge of the avant-garde. In the meantime, he has added another feather to his cap as a consultant for prestige brands.
